I am a daughter of a farmer who shared with me his connection to the Earth while my mother encouraged my creativity.

I was born and grew up in Dorrigo, fled to the city and overseas for education and adventure, but returned so my children could know this place also.

I am a mother and grandmother.

I am a survivor of domestic violence and so are my children.

For 25 years while my children were growing up, I conducted kid’s art classes from home.

During this time as a community artist, locally and regionally, I facilitated projects and workshops utilizing the Earth’s gifts of fibre and clay, developing a unique approach to well being, self - care  and creativity.

Since my children found their wings and flew the nest, I embarked on studies.

Curious about art therapy I contacted Cornelia Elbrecht, founder and director  at the School for Initiatic Art Therapy at the Institute of Sensorimotor Art Therapy and so began an expansive enlightening journey of understanding, personal insights and training for my Diploma of Initiatic Art Therapy.
As an art therapist I facilitate activities with children and adults, groups and individuals.

I have illustrated various publications relating to a healthier lifestyle for CRANAplus Bush Support Services since 2013.
CRANAplus  Bush Support Services employ me as an art therapist, collaborating with psychologists. We conduct experiential workshops on self-care, resilience building and  reflective practice to rural, remote and isolated health care workers throughout Australia.

In 2014 I began studies with Somatic Experiencing Australia (S.E. Trauma Institute developed by Peter Levine PhD) and in April 2017 qualified as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.

The combination of art therapy, creativity and Somatic Experiencing offers a wealth of possibilities in restoring health, well being and awareness.

I look forward to sharing with you, collaborating to evolve together something better.
